I love the Matrix movies. I mean LOVE the Matrix movies. Back in the day my friends and I really gravitated to the message that we are all programmed to believe a story about our world and that we were awakening to “reality”. It was exciting to think that I could opt for the red pill and be suddenly freed from the construct keeping me in a small confined space in the world. When did that constricted space filled with limitations come into existence? Who created that? I certainly felt like it was done to me.
We spend our childhood learning about all the elements in our environment and having reactions to those elements that seal and encapsulate into the core of “who we are”. A voice emerges in our minds to keep us in line. Then as teenagers we try to rebel against that authority in the mind that is dictating to us. That authority is the conductor calling the shots, plucking the strings. We go through turmoil in those years and it hurts! In childhood (especially the teen years) we go through stages of development where we try on different ways of being, discarding what doesn’t feel right until we eventually land on what does. Maybe you were a Goth, an Emo, a Jock? I was a Deadhead! We achieve our personal style, inside and out. What feels right is what aligns with the conductor’s direction as we have experiences in the world.
At a certain point we swallow the blue pill. The blue pill is surrender to the conductor and the matrix. There is no option of a red pill. There is really no choice about the blue pill either because we are here to create this world and we cannot opt out as long as we are breathing. We settle into the “who we are” and even if we are advocates of change we are operating within that construct of beliefs. This is the sum total of our known world. Its comfortable and reliable, even the elements we do not enjoy. Even if we are tired and wish things were different. Some resist feelings because we have painful emotions and others explode with emotions all the time in an attempt to release them through catharsis. But we find ourselves back at square one, in the matrix.
Perhaps we try to escape those feelings through vices. Distractions from what we are feeling become very important commodities in the matrix. We avoid thinking about what might be just beneath the surface of our consciousness. Most of us have moments where we are touched by the source outside the matrix. A moment when the conductor isn’t looking when something breaks through and you see that a new idea, a light shines through and a new encoding implants itself into the program. This new encoding disturbs the routine of the matrix. You might want to explore this new light but the conductor in the mind can be very harsh if we get out of line. The conductor will punish you for trying to break from the matrix of your beliefs. The conductor in your mind might look like your parents or it may take on other faces for you in your life…your boss or your spouse.
Taking a risk and exploring outside the boundaries of what you believe you are will lead to a moment where you are offered the red pill. It might be an opportunity to let go of a habit, or a toxic relationship, or a painful belief about yourself. Its a chance to jump off of the familiar and into your own personal unknown and when the plugs come out that were holding you in this problem you feel ecstatic freedom and release. Perhaps you will see then how you constructed these problems based on judgements and decisions you made a long time ago. Regardless the freedom to BE in a new way is exhilarating…
Until you encounter the next system of beliefs that causes you to chafe. It might feel even more constricting because you now have an experience of freedom to compare this to and it doesn’t feel good. Again who is creating this matrix!? Certainly it’s a sinister character out there controlling everything! But curiosity killed the cat…and broke the matrix. We jump again when offered the chance and eventually we take enough red pills to remove the plugs and enough are broken to let you move freely about the world. We even start breathing in a new way.
Suddenly everything looks different. Everything you believed about yourself turns out to be just a story, even your name. Every thought is the code of the matrix. Now there is a moment there where you might be pretty pissed off about this, remember that guy who tried to get back into the matrix just to enjoy oblivion and a good steak dinner? When you leave the construct you return to your Self. This means that you as the Self are responsible for everything. You recognize the conductor…and it is you. You now see that you have worn so many masks with yourself in order to protect the precious matrix of beliefs you took years to build over time.
As the authentic Self there is no blaming anymore. Every situation will reveal to you exactly how you created it as all things are reflected to you as your creation. I call this the Mirror Effect. This extraordinary manifestation is the Divine in action, You in action! You see your innate beauty and now the orchestra is yours to conduct. You are now free to re-create your world and express your own creativity in crafting it exactly as you want it. It is all up to you!
I have one suggestion to begin transforming the matrix of your creation. Love it. There is a lot going on in the underbelly of the mind working so hard to keep you in place. Love it. Ask forgiveness to your higher self for creating it. Be willing to see your true reflection and be grateful for the courage to do so. Love it…and jump.
Coming soon…the role of emotions and the emotional body. What are emotions and how does it relate to the belief systems in your matrix? See you soon…and please share.
